Terms of Service

1. About AGRIO

AGRIO is a marketplace platform that connects consumers, restaurants, and food businesses with local farms. AGRIO does not sell food directly — it provides the technology for farmers and buyers to transact. By creating an account and using AGRIO, you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to update it if it changes.

AGRIO reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraud, or are inactive for extended periods.

3. For farmers

• You represent that you are authorized to sell the products you list and that they comply with all applicable food safety and agricultural laws.
• Product descriptions, prices, and availability must be accurate. You are responsible for updating your listings.
• You must complete Stripe onboarding to receive payouts. AGRIO is not responsible for delays caused by Stripe's verification process.
• Farmers keep 100% of their listed product price. AGRIO is free for farms — no listing fees, no monthly fees, no platform fees charged to farmers.
• You are responsible for fulfilling orders — having the product available for pickup on the agreed date and time.

4. For consumers and business buyers

• Payment is charged at the time of order. All sales are final unless the farmer is unable to fulfill an order, in which case a full refund will be issued.
• You agree to pick up your order at the scheduled time. Missed pickups may be treated as completed orders with no refund.
• A service fee (4% of subtotal) and a flat platform fee ($1.49) are added to each order total. These fees are non-refundable in cases of voluntary cancellation after payment. Pickup is free; delivery fees, when applicable, are shown separately at checkout.

5. Prohibited uses

You may not use AGRIO to:

• List or purchase items that are illegal in your jurisdiction
• Create fake accounts, impersonate others, or submit false information
• Abuse, harass, or threaten other users
• Attempt to circumvent the platform's payment system (e.g., arranging off-platform payments)
• Scrape or systematically harvest data from AGRIO without permission

6. Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing on AGRIO, you agree to Stripe's terms. Refunds are issued at AGRIO's discretion and are typically granted only when a farmer cancels or fails to fulfill an order.

7. Limitation of liability

AGRIO provides the marketplace platform but is not a party to any transaction between farmers and buyers. AGRIO is not liable for food quality, foodborne illness, missed pickups, or any disputes arising from individual transactions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AGRIO's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in service fees in the 30 days prior to the claim.

8. Intellectual property

AGRIO owns all rights to the platform, branding, and code. You retain ownership of content you upload (farm descriptions, product photos). By uploading content, you grant AGRIO a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it on the platform.

9. Changes to terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. We'll notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
